Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Let Down Your Hair

Elle and I watched the movie, Tangled, in the movie theater for the second time, and Elle is officially in love—with the movie that is. She thinks Rapunzel is the best princess (her previous favorite was Ariel), and she wants to be just like her.

Immediately after the movie we had to go to the store and purchase yellow yarn in the exact shade as Rapunzel’s hair (thankfully it was there and available). We then had to go home and make her a wig to resemble Rapunzel’s long locks. Elle wanted hair that touched the ground, and she wanted hair that she had to pick up and carry (she also wanted hair that she could tie in knots and swing from like Rapunzel in the movie, but I told her there was no way to create such a thing. It’s a yarn wig, what does she expect?). After successfully explaining the limitations of yarn, I did my best—and I believe I succeeded—to create a close replica of the Disney princess’s tresses.

Elle was very pleased with my work, and she loves pretending to be Rapunzel.
