Wish List

My brother and his wife just got a new, adorable puppy, and Elle—the I-love-animals-more-than-anything-else girl—has completely fallen in love with her. She is enamored. And ever since she met this little, adorable puppy, she has repeatedly begged Johnny for one; but until Johnny has a job, a pet of any kind—except maybe a fish—is out of the question.

Poor Johnny has a long list of things that his family wishes for him to attain once he has that long, sought-after job. A common phrase around our house is, “When Daddy gets a job, I want….” And I have to admit that I am also guilty of using this phrase from time to time. Talk about pressure.
