Daddy Daughter Date

Johnny and Elle went on a Daddy daughter date to the movies. Elle really wanted to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks. I thought it was so cute to see them walk out the door hand in hand. There is such a special bond between fathers and their daughters.

Baby Giggles

Elle loves to make Hudson laugh. She tries endless tactics and maneuvers. Luckily, he is easily amused, and most of the things Elle does produces smiles and giggles.

Christmas 2009

We woke up and opened presents at 5:45 AM. And no, we did not wake up at that time because Elle was excited about Christmas. We woke up at that insane hour, because Elle and Hudson wake up at that time or earlier EVERYDAY. If Johnny and I are lucky, they sometimes sleep in until 6:00 AM. But it is not unheard of for us to get up at 4:45 AM. And let me tell you, that’s a really fun hour to get up in the morning. But even though we were up extremely early, we couldn’t have had a better Christmas. We were together laughing, sharing, and surprising each other.

Hudson seemed to really enjoy his first Christmas. He liked talking to all the wrapping paper and the pretty Christmas bags. Good thing we didn’t really get him anything besides a Moto Moto doll and some clothes. He was much more pleased with the presentation of the present, than the actual present itself. Elle, on the other hand, tore through the presentation and went straight for the loot. She needed more than something shiny to keep her occupied. But either way, presentation or present, both Elle and Hudson had a wonderful and magical Christmas.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Our Christmas Eve was everything it should be. It was filled with family, presents, ice skating, toys, yummy food, new pajamas, laughter, smiles, and love.

I think the highlight of the day was our Christmas ice skating session. Elle has only been ice skating one time before, and that time she held her dad’s hands for the entirety of the time. But today, she skated all by herself—with a little help from a metal contraption. It was the cutest thing to see her skating across the rink all alone. She was so tiny, yet so determined.

And not only was today Christmas Eve, but it was also marked three months to the day that Hudson joined our little family. It is crazy to think that one year ago we didn’t even know Hudson, and now he has changed us for the better. He is our smiley, happy, fun little—maybe not so little—boy and we all love him dearly.
