Irish Dance

Elle came to me the other day and told me that she really wanted to take dance lessons; but she did not want to take just any dance lessons, she wanted to take lessons where they dance with their feet. Now this does not sound at all like a good description—most dances are done with one’s feet—but she of course did a little dance for me that explained it perfectly. From Elle’s little dance example, I was able to figure out that she wanted to take Irish dance lessons. I wasn’t entirely sure where she got the idea—probably from a movie—but I thought it was worth looking into. So I looked up a couple of places that offered her preferred dance, and off we went this week to two different studios to participate in a free class.

Elle had a lot of fun, and genuinely liked learning Irish dance. It was very entertaining and fun to watch her learn to dance (some of the moves are a little complicated for a first-time four-year-old, so it made for good entertainment). I am still not sure if we are going to take full-on lessons, but the two classes she attended were a great glimpse into the world of Irish dancing. Plus, Elle was so good at listening, and she whole-heartedly attempted everything her instructors asked her to do. Yea for her.

Hudson also wanted to get in on the action, so he watched and attempted to do some of the dance steps like Elle. And I was laughing hysterically, as he endeavored to lift his leg just like the instructors. Very funny.

And Hudson would like everyone to know that his sister's sippy cup is way more fun to drink out of and hold than his own (probably due to the fact that it is usually forbidden).
