Ponytails

Johnny will not be happy about this post, but I find it hilarious.

The other day, I was putting a braid in Elle’s hair, and Hudson sat a little ways of watching me rather closely. When I was done with Elle’s braid, she stood up, and Hudson sat in front of me, held up the hair elastics, and started grunting. I understood that to mean that he wanted me to do his hair just like his sister’s. So—even though I knew Johnny would not approve—I proceeded to put a small ponytail in Hudson’s hair (Johnny wasn’t home; what could he do).

When I was finished with my dirty work, Hudson reached his little hand back and felt the small ponytail. I guess he approved, because he held the hair elastics up again and started grunting. So, I obliged again…and again. After three he was satisfied. I let him wear them for the whole morning—until his nap—and he loved them. However, he despised it when I took them out—he hated it. And since then, he has not asked me to do his hair again.
