Family Home Evening—Flags

Seeing as how July 4th fell on a Monday this year, we got to make our theme for family home evening holiday related. This week our theme was: flags. We had a lesson all about flags and what they represent and do. We talked about different people in the scriptures who used flags and what they meant for them. We also talked about the different types of flags that have been used over time. And lastly, we of course talked about the American flag and what it represents for us today. We then made our own American flags out of paper and star stickers (Elle had a lot of fun making these). And for dessert we made a flag cake (very yummy. Hudson loved the frosting). Basically, we really enjoyed learning, making and eating flags.

How fun! :) That sounds like an awesome FHE lesson, and that cake looks so yummy!!! Seriously, every time I see Hudson, he looks soo much like Dakota. Like that one picture looks like you are holding Dakota from like... 22 years ago.
