4th of July

Celebrating our Nation’s birthday today was a lot of fun. We did all of the required—according to us—4th of July activities: parade (which included catching and eating lots of candy); visity the Capital; lunch and Italian sodas (very yummy); a nap (only Hudson got this luxury, though Johnny and I would have liked to have divulged in such a treat); crafts (4th of July related); BBQ with friends and family, family fireworks (sparklers and poppers are a must); and lastly, the city fireworks (Elle calls them sparkleworks, which is a My Little Pony). All in all our 4th of July was a very fun filled day (minus the moment when Elle stepped on a spark from her sparkler with her bare foot—that was not so fun). But even still, we are so grateful for our country and all of the freedoms we enjoy.
