Not Selfish

Elle really loves her neighbors (they play on a daily basis, so they are more like brothers and sisters); they have so much fun together. However, there are times when she feels that she does not love them quite as much. This was precisely her feeling the other day, when she and Koen were having one of their daily tiffs. On this day, she came up to me and said, “Koen is not being a nice friend. He is rude, inconsiderate and selfish.” At this point, I was trying hard not to laugh. But Koen interrupts Elle’s tirade to say, “Not selfish. I’m not selfish.” I guess he owned up to the other two accusations, but he wanted to make sure both Elle and I knew he was not selfish.
