Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday turned out to be a wonderful, fun, and spiritual day. It is easy on some holidays to get caught up in the commercial side of things, but I tried to do a pretty good job at teaching Elle what Easter really means. She really grasped on to the idea of the resurrection, and all of the things that Jesus has done for her as well as the rest of us. I have been prepping her for weeks, so it was nice to see her remember the things I taught her as we viewed the pictures and retold the story of the resurrection. Of course, it was easy to get her excited about the Easter Bunny, and she needed no encouragement from me to get into that aspect of the holiday. She really enjoyed going on an Easter scavenger hunt in order to find her Easter basket; and she loved each item found within. Her favorite part, besides the candy, was her lion mask. She saw this at the zoo gift shop one day, and fell in love. No surprise, since she is my animal impersonating child. The Easter Bunny also paid Hudson a visit, and brought him a fun new toy. He is quite pleased with the toy, though he doesn’t understand nor care who brought it to him. Combine all of this with two sessions of General Conference, and it brings a wonderful, fun, and spiritual day.

Sounds like a fun day for any kid! Elle is at a great age to teach her the reason behind holidays.
