Hudson has had a haircut cut before—several times—but he has never had a REAL haircut. I have decided that my haircuts do not count as haircuts, because they are so poorly done. The last time I gave the poor kid a haircut, it looked terrible. And then Johnny tried to fix it, and it looked even worse (sorry honey, but it’s true). So we, meaning Johnny and I, decided that it was high-time for Hudson to get a REAL first haircut.
Lucky for us, Jae Cee cuts hair; so Hudson got to have his aunt give him his first haircut. I was not at all sure how he would do—one never knows with a one-year-old—so I went with no expectations. But I needn’t have worried, because Hudson did great. He sat in the chair the entire time, and never once complained. He seemed thoroughly confused with the process as a whole, but he never let out one protest. He was very good.
And I have to say that I am very pleased with Hudson’s REAL first haircut. It looks so good (much better than what Johnny and I attempted). It is even, and it suits him so well. I am very pleased.
Also, my children decided that sweeping up the cut hair was a fun thing to do. They both just had to have a chance to sweep up the hair-covered floor. Nothing like a little child labor.
