Family Home Evening—Water

Family home evening at our house can often be a little rushed and not well thought out (I know, not good). So I have decided to do a much better job—anything will be an improvement from what we have done before. I have decided to have a new theme each week; and with each theme I will choose a lesson, a craft and a treat. I am hoping that my themes will motivate and inspire me to do much more creative and fun family home evenings.

Our theme this week for Family Home Evening was water. Johnny gave a lesson about the sacrament (extra emphasis on the blessing for the water), Elle made an elephant watering can (milk carton), and our snack was well…water (super easy—just turn on the kitchen faucet). This week’s theme was a hit, and I am excited to think of a theme, craft and lesson for next week. I know my snack will have to be a little more elaborate than water, but it will still be fun.

I am hoping that every time Elle uses her milk carton watering can, she will think of the sacrament and the sacrifice our Savior has made for her and all of us.
