Ballet

I took Elle and Hudson—but the event was mainly for Elle—to the library to attend a ballet. This ballet was paying tribute to the Beatrix Potter books. Elle loves Peter Rabbit, and she was ecstatic to get to watch a ballet all about this book. The ballet itself was fun, and Elle was enamored the entire time; but having the ballet tell the stories by Beatrix Potter made it even more enjoyable and entertaining—even for Hudson. We happened to get a front row seat—though I had to hold both Hudson and Elle on my lap for the duration of the performance—which gave Elle an up close view of all the dancers. But I think the highlight of the event, was when all the kids in the audience were asked to go up front and dance with the ballet dancers. Elle could not believe she was allowed to do this. She was all smiles for the entire song, and she was so happy to get to hold one of the ballet dancer’s hands. This coupled with the actual performance, made it a exceptional ballet.
