Discovery Center

We made a discovery today: Discovery Center of Idaho. It is a hands-on science center. There are over 160 different, interactive, hands-on science exhibits. I have wanted to take Elle—not Hudson; he’s too young—here for quite some time, but I never really wanted to pay the admission price. But when I found out that they were having free admission on Fridays, I couldn’t resist. I did, however, have to take Hudson, because he had no where else to go. I was a little worried on how he would do, since he is so curious, and there is not much offered in his age category. And I had every right to be apprehensive, because Hudson was into everything. I was constantly picking him up, and removing him from anything and everything. Exhausting. But on the plus side, Elle had a lot of fun, and could not get enough of some of the exhibits. I tried my hardest to help her with the many different science exhibits, but my hands were full with Mr. Destructive. But I’m used to it. Everyday is an ongoing battle of trying to keep Hudson out of trouble. So, all in all, I was glad I took the two of them to the Discovery Center.

The best exhibit—according to Elle—was the grocery store. Here, children get the chance to pretend they are going grocery shopping. They push mini grocery carts, pick out a huge variety of pretend food, and then they get to purchase and checkout. Elle was in heaven. She really could have stayed here all day. Hudson, too, loved this exhibit. However, I spent the entire time trying to keep him from eating the pretend food, from taking carts from unsuspecting little girls, and from ramming his cart into innocent pretenders. Very comical.

The other favorite exhibit, was this mirror. But it looks like too many Elles and Hudsons for me.
