Our theme for family home evening this week was: Christmas. For the lesson we read the talk, What is Christmas?, by President Thomas S. Monson. In the talk, President Monson referred to four things that Christmas is about—children, remembering, giving and prophesy fulfilled. After reading the talk, we discussed each item and talked about how each truly does represent Christmas. After the lesson, we made our own manger out of Popsicle sticks to represent the forth item on President Monson’s list: prophesy fulfilled. Elle then wrote all four items on yellow pieces of paper—straw—to place inside our manger. Then, with our manger ready, we made our own edible mangers out of marshmallows and sugar paper. Very yummy. All in all, this was a great theme for the season, and it really helped us to get into the true meaning of Christmas and what the holiday is all about.

I think your tree skirt is beautiful, and thought that when we were visiting you, but I forgot to tell you. I thought that you BOUGHT it, so I'm really impressed that you MADE it. Great job, Ashley! It was great to see you guys, even if it was for a little bit. Merry Christmas to you all.
