I have been trying to come up with fun ways to spend our summer, but it is so hot, that outdoor activities are unbearable. Therefore, we need cool, wet, intriguing activities that capture a hyper, determined three-year-old’s interest. Enter the kiddie pool. Nothing beats heat better than ice, cold water. (And don’t mind the bikini; she thinks she’s Ariel).

Take Me Out To The Ball Game
Last weekend Johnny and I went to a San Francisco Giants baseball game, and today, with Elle and Dakota, we went to an Oakland A’s game. It was a lot of fun going with everyone, but it was especially fun taking Elle. She thoroughly enjoyed herself, and of course, got some more cotton candy. Cavities anyone? All in all, our Memorial Day weekend has been exceptional, and we are certainly glad that Dakota was able to come and spend it with us.

San Francisco
Johnny, Elle, and I have been having a lot of fun with my brother, Dakota, who came to visit us for the Memorial Day weekend. It is always fun having family in town; especially family that we do not see very often. Today, we went into San Francisco and decided to be complete tourists. We went to Pier 39, had cotton candy, rode the carousel, pursued the shops, viewed the seals, ate at Rainforest Café, visited the National Maritime Museum, devoured ice cream from Ghirardelli, and splashed in the water at Aquatic Park. It was a very fun and fulfilling day. We were able to see and do everything that brought any interest to our tummies or eyes. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely, and we were glad that we were able to spend such fun and enjoyable time together.

Dance! Dance! Dance!
Elle took the first lesson of her first dance class yesterday. My neighbor is doing it out of her house, and it could not be more perfect for Elle. She had so much fun, and followed instructions surprisingly well. She cannot quit talking about her dance class, and is endlessly showing Johnny and I all of the things she has learned.

We Don't Have That
Elle really enjoys playing restaurant. She can take my order endlessly, and then pretends to give me my desired food. I know from my mother, that I did this quite consistently when I was little, too. My mother told me how funny she found it that we were playing pretend restaurant, yet I was always out of the food she requested. Well, as Elle and I were playing the other day, I asked her for some particular food, and she looked at me and said: “Oh, we don’t have that.” I always find it funny when I discover Elle doing things that I did as a child. It is even funnier when she does the same ornery things.

Three-Year-Old Stats
Elle and I went to the Doctor yesterday for her three-year-old wellness check. She is doing really well, and has moved from the tenth percentile to the ninth percentile for weight (big jump), and for height, she is in the eleventh percentile (no surprise). She is just little girl; but at least she is consistent. I think she has always been in or around the tenth percentile.
At the age of one, her growth percentiles were:
Weight 19 lbs 13 oz (20%)
Height 28 3/4" (25%)
At the age of two, her growth percentiles were:
Weight 22 lbs 12 oz (10%)
Height 2' 9" (44%)
Her growth percentiles for the age of three are as follows:
Weight 26 lbs 8 oz (9%)
Height 2’ 11.5” (11%)
After the doctor’s appointment, Elle and I went to the San Ramon Central Park (aka the water park), since Elle was none to pleased to get “fixed by the doctor.” She had a lot of fun playing and splashing in the water, and she still cannot quit talking about it. All in all, it was a good day.
