A Giraffe and Ice Cream

I think we are a little obsessed with the zoo. Why? Because we attend once a week, sometimes twice. Actually, we live so close—ten minutes—and have an annual pass, so going often just makes sense. Plus, Elle loves animals; and if one loves animals, it doesn’t get much better than the zoo.

On this particular zoo expedition, Elle and I got to feed a giraffe. Elle was so excited. She loves to feed animals, and feeding a wild animal is an ultimate experience for her. She was a little short, but she just stood on the tips of her toes, and the giraffe was able to eat from her hand. She was completely elated, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled for her. She has talked non-stop about it since.

After the feeding encounter, Elle and I viewed our favorite animal exhibits, and animals. Elle also got to feed the goats and sheep in the Zoo Farm exhibit—with her own quarter. Elle and I both had a fun time, and enjoyed our encounters at the zoo.

However, our encounters had only begun, because later that night we attended the Ice Cream Zoofari. Elle got to eat ice cream and view the animals after hours. Elle found it very exciting to be at the zoo at night. Another fun experience that has been talked of non-stop.

So our obsession with the zoo continues. And I don’t see it ending anytime soon.
