For Christmas, Johnny and I—well me—decided to get Elle a jump house for her present from Santa Clause. I thought it would be something fun for her to do during the cold winter days. I also wanted her to get some exercise when it was too cold or wet to do so outside. So, I found a jump house on extreme sell back in April. I was so excited; it was just what I had been envisioning. Well, come Christmas Eve, Johnny and I got out her jump house, and found that it was really big. We also found that the pump we had to blow up the jump house with was not sufficient for the project. Seeing as how it was 9:30 on Christmas Eve, and nothing was open, we started calling people in the ward to see if anyone could aid us in our dilemma. Finally, we found someone with a sufficient pump, and Johnny rushed over to get it. By the time he got back, and started blowing up the jump house, I had to go upstairs and feed Hudson. Johnny came in to tell me that the jump house was really big—too big. I thought he was exaggerating—Johnny tends to get annoyed by kid’s toys—and didn’t think much of it. When I came down the stairs and saw the blown up jump house, I was shocked. Johnny was right: it was TOO big. Not only that, but the top of it had a hole somewhere, and would not blow up. We decided to leave it up and let Elle jump on it Christmas morning, and then return it the next day. Elle was of course thoroughly excited about the jump house, and had fun playing on it all morning. And she was quite sad when we packed it up and returned it the next day (thankfully they took it back, since I had purchased it in April. Though Johnny says they take back everything at Christmas time). So, since Elle’s Christmas present failed in so many ways, but she still loved it, we decided to buy her another one. Only this one is much, much, much smaller. Thankfully we found what we were looking for, and everyone, including Elle, is happy. Though I think Johnny will be giving me a hard time about this one for many Christmases to come.
