Boo at the Zoo

My mother, Bridget, Elle, Hudson, and I all went to Boo at the Zoo yesterday. It was festive and fun; and it really got us in the Halloween spirit. Elle dressed up as a lion—one must dress up as a zoo animal when wearing a costume to the zoo—and Hudson dressed up as an Oakland A’s baseball player—I guess babies are exempt to Elle’s costume rule; especially when the baby’s father insists upon him dressing up in sports attire.

The weather was a little cold yesterday, but that did not dampen our spirits. Elle went trick-or-treating, met animals, devoured cotton candy, got her face painted, had a couple meltdowns, rode the carousel, and viewed the animals. Hudson slept, ate, and slept some more. To him, it doesn’t get any better than that. Despite the meltdowns, it was a really fun day to celebrate Halloween at the zoo.

The female lion had been lying down a ways off; but while Elle was standing by the viewing glass, the lioness came right up to the glass and looked at Elle. We all teased Elle that it was because she was dressed as a lion. Who knows?

Elle wanted a leaf painted on her cheek. I was not at all sure why, but she insisted.

Hey, a fun outing is not complete without a few meltdowns.

Looks like such a fun outing! Elle's costume is so cute. Our zoo did something like this on Saturday night, and we wanted to go really bad. We didn't get to though cause I had to go to a youth dance (blahhhh) oh well. We'll definitely have to go next year.
