Boo at the Zoo

My mother, Bridget, Elle, Hudson, and I all went to Boo at the Zoo yesterday. It was festive and fun; and it really got us in the Halloween spirit. Elle dressed up as a lion—one must dress up as a zoo animal when wearing a costume to the zoo—and Hudson dressed up as an Oakland A’s baseball player—I guess babies are exempt to Elle’s costume rule; especially when the baby’s father insists upon him dressing up in sports attire.

The weather was a little cold yesterday, but that did not dampen our spirits. Elle went trick-or-treating, met animals, devoured cotton candy, got her face painted, had a couple meltdowns, rode the carousel, and viewed the animals. Hudson slept, ate, and slept some more. To him, it doesn’t get any better than that. Despite the meltdowns, it was a really fun day to celebrate Halloween at the zoo.



The female lion had been lying down a ways off; but while Elle was standing by the viewing glass, the lioness came right up to the glass and looked at Elle. We all teased Elle that it was because she was dressed as a lion. Who knows?


Elle wanted a leaf painted on her cheek. I was not at all sure why, but she insisted.

One-Month-Old

Hudson is now one month old, and he is growing as fast as the time is passing. We all love him dearly, and we enjoy every moment with him.

Announcing...

I wanted to post the announcement that my sister, Bridget, did for Hudson. She did a spectacular job. And it is definitely a Johnny approved baby announcement—he’ll have nothing too cutesy for his boy.

Splish, Splash

Hudson had his first bath yesterday, and he loved it. He was a little unsure as to what we were doing, but after his first initial shock, he really got into it. Elle also got in the bath with him, and she had a great time helping me scrub him clean.

Swine Flu

This past week we have had the fortunate event of catching the swine flu. Lucky us. It started with Johnny, and spread to Elle. So far, Hudson and I have been spared. However, it affected all of us in some way. Sickness can be so cruel.

Two-Weeks-Old

It is hard to believe that my little boy is two-weeks-old. He is such a sweet little boy; I love him so much. He truly is a joy.
