Christmas Baking

Elle/Ariel/Jasmine/Princess Aurora (these are the many names that I am asked to call her each day) and I have been very busy making delicious treats to give away to all of our friends and neighbors. Elle—I mean Ariel/Jasmine/Princess Aurora—has really enjoyed helping me in the kitchen. She mostly loves to eat/sneak all of the sweets. We made homemade peanut brittle and chocolates; both of which Elle/Ariel/Jasmine/Princess Aurora (and yes, she always corrects me when I forget to call her by one of these names) found quite delectable.

Stupid Word

While I was busy cleaning the house today, Elle was busy with her toys. She was being quite good, until I heard her exclaim, “Stupid toy! Stupid toy! Stupid toy!” I immediately went in to see what the problem was; and I found that the problem was not at all alarming. She just simply couldn’t get one of her toys to do the thing she wanted it to. I then told her that she should not say the word stupid, because it is not a polite word. Elle then paused what she was doing, looked at me, and said, “It’s a stupid word.”

Phantom of the Opera

Last night, Johnny's mom and I went to Phantom of the Opera in San Francisco. It was absolutely amazing. The music, the costumes, and the acting were positively astounding. I loved every minute of it. I sat in awe throughout the entirety of the show. I am so glad we decided to go; the show was beautiful and mesmerizing. It was brilliant. A definite must see.

Happy Birthday!

Elle went to Jack's birthday party yesterday, and she had all the fun that birthday parties bring. She played games, danced, and had cake. It was quite an exciting event, and is still talked about around our house. Elle was very excited about giving a present to Jack; and after we wrapped the gift, she would not put it down. She held it for twenty minutes, until we finally went over to the party and presented the present to Jack.

Here Comes Santa Clause

Tonight we went to our Ward Christmas Party, and Elle got to yet again sit on Santa's lap. She is becoming quite the old pro at this. It no longer takes any reassuring on our part. She simply goes up to him, sits on his lap, and tells him that for Christmas she wants a candy cane.
