My Little Girl

We love warm, sunny days.

Nobody Likes Being Sick

Unfortunately, Elle gave both Johnny and I the sickly germs she obtained at Disneyland. It is definitely never fun to have the flu; but worse than that, is having both parents with the flu at the same time. Thank goodness we survived that.

The Magic of Disney

On Wednesday, of this past week, Elle, Johnny, and I all took a road trip down to Southern California. To where? To Disneyland. Yes, we went and spent three fun-filled days at the “happiest place on earth.” Bridget flew down and spent the three days with us. I cannot even begin to describe all of the fun and memories that we accumulated throughout the trip. It truly was a dream come true for us as well as for Elle. Watching her face light up at seeing princesses and characters was very sweet and memorable. Disneyland took on a whole new magic by taking Elle. I loved doing whatever she wanted to do, and I had fun doing it at the same time. I didn’t even mind riding It’s a Small World more than once, or riding King Triton’s Carousel four times in a row. If it made her happy, then I was happy. I am truly grateful that we took the opportunity to take a vacation as a family. It was the best vacation we have been on yet. All of our worries and thoughts of everyday life were lost in the magic of Disney. We truly were able to relax and have unforgettable fun as a family.

Day #1
Disneyland

Toon Town
Elle absolutely loved Toon Town; Minnie's house was by far her favorite.

It's a Small World. Teacups Alice in Wonderland
Winnie the Pooh Tigger
Dancing Winnie the Pooh Ride

Meeting the infamous princesses. We waited in line for an hour to meet the princesses. It was a very slow line; however, to see Elle's face light up, was worth every second of waiting.

Day #2
California Adventure

Ariel's Grotto
A very expensive meal, but each princess comes to your table. Elle thought it was a wonderful experience.

Day #3
Both Disneyland and California Adventure

We let Elle pick out one thing at Disneyland, and she picked out Lady. She loves her very much.

Bridget and I took Elle and went and watched High School Musical 3. I was excited, and Bridget was a little dubious. I insisted on sitting up close, and so we sat front row. Bridget obliged me, and sat where I wanted. The funny part about it, was that towards the end of the show, a girl pulled Bridget up on stage, so that she could participate in the show. I was laughing hysterically. Here was the girl who didn’t really care about where she sat, or if she had a good view; and she gets pulled up on stage. Very funny indeed.

Elle fell asleep while we watched Disney’s Aladdin—A Musical Spectacular, and I have to say, Johnny and I were a little shocked. This is the child that never sleeps; and if she does, it has to be under the perfect conditions—quiet, dark, and comfortable. Falling asleep in my arms, during a live show, is hardly the perfect conditions. After falling alseep, Elle continued to sleep for two hours in the middle of California Adventure. It was extremely loud, and there was no way she was at all comfortable. When she eventually woke up, we put her in the stroller, and she fell asleep for another two hours. Johnny and I were taking pictures of her, and Bridget said we were the only parents taking pictures of our sleeping child. We were just so surprised. For us, it was a one-time picture taking moment. She never sleeps. Later on, we found out that she had the flu, but it was still a rather surprising moment for us.

We had to go meet Tigger and Pooh a second time. Elle couldn't get enough of them or the Winnie the Pooh ride.

Meeting the princesses a second time. Johnny waited in the line for and hour, and we met him when he got to the front of the line. What a good Dad.

Bridget got Elle the Minnie Mouse Ears. Elle absolutley loves them.
